Eph 1:15-17 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, (16) Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; (17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:d

I want you to notice the ‘Wherefore” The NASB and NIV has “for this reason” the New JKV has “Therefore” which makes this a term of conclusion. So what is the wherefore there for?...
It goes back to verses 3-14 because of all that Paul reveals concerning how God has blessed with all spiritual blessing in the heavenly, because we have been chosen before the foundation of the earth, because we have been adopted by God through Jesus Christ, because He has made us accepted in the beloved, because we have the forgiveness of sins, because He has made know to us the mystery of His will, because we have an inheritance, but even more specifically because… of what Paul says in the passage we looked at this past week Eph 1:12-14 ….
Because we are to be to the praise of His glory, because after we heard the word of truth we believed in Him, and because we believed we were sealed with the Holy Spirit, which is the earnest of our inheritance ….....
Because of all this Paul says…. That he “cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers” that is the context. What we will be studying this week is what Paul is praying for. Verse 17 gives the broad picture of Paul’s prayer for these saints at Ephesus and the faithful in Christ Jesus. What is it?...
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
